Become Centered and Focused!
Because most of us think with our heads and not our hearts, we rarely listen to our inner or higher selves. The answers we so desperately seek resonate within us but go unheard. Most people just can't get out of their rational minds. After all, it would be financially irresponsible to make a career decision and not consider compensation as a major issue. Wouldn't it? Perhaps not! Do yourself (and everyone around you) a favor and try not to let your "job" define your life. You as a person are much more than the totality of your functionality. What you do at work everyday does not define who you are. More and more people are doing what they want. People are getting clearer about what they want and how to get there. The smartest candidates are those who really see where they are and have no qualms about their level of expertise relative to the rest of the market. They know where they want to be. The focused candidate realizes that there may be several different ways to go, and knows how to prioritize what he/she seeks. You'll do yourself a disservice if you can't decide or prioritize. If you can't decide which job, one versus another, then none of the options are a fit -- move on. How many people take a job without passion because "it makes sense." Once you realize that you can't be given a 10 person staff to manage with two years of experience, the easier it will be. Making sure the fit is right is really your job -- Shulman Associates is just here as the messengers of opportunity. The more you tell us about what you want and don't want, like and dislike, the more we can help.
