Finding the Best Fit

business

We know the perfect resume doesn't always mean a perfect fit. That's why Shulman Associates requires extensive face-to-face meetings and conversations with clients, from hiring managers to peers and often direct reports -- all to better understand the requirements of an open position. We will not work on an assignment without meeting all the appropriate constituents. If a client feels that meeting a search consultant is not essential, we will walk away from the assignment. Matching chemistry and culture would be impossible without these vital meetings.

“ … we at Shulman Associates advise our clients to bring us in as early as possible when they initiate an executive search. That way, we help brainstorm with the HR manager and/or hiring manager; we bring our industry-wide perspective and objectivity to the discussion; and we gain the necessary insights into the nature of the company that will help us during the search. If a client simply sends over a requisition and says, "Fill this ASAP," we will be severely handicapped in finding the perfect match and, in most cases, we will not accept the assignment.

"We do not charge additional fees for this upfront work even though the payoff to the client is huge. We often wonder why other executive search firms don’t offer this service.”
